HP OfficeJet Pro setup and troubleshooting
OfficeJet Pro printers (such as the 8000 and 9000 series) are HP’s small-office inkjets, usually with a touchscreen, document feeder and fax. They do more, so there’s more to configure.
How to set up a HP OfficeJet Pro
- Use the touchscreen’s Wireless Setup Wizard, or plug in an Ethernet cable if your model has a network port.
- Install HP Smart or the full software from HP’s support site on each computer.
- Reserve the printer’s IP address in your router — especially important in offices with several users.
- For scan-to-email or scan-to-network-folder, use the printer’s Embedded Web Server (type its IP address into a browser).
Then add it to your computer: Windows 11 · Windows 10 · Mac · Chromebook · Phone
Worth knowing
Many OfficeJet Pro “e” models are HP+ printers — see the HP+ note on our HP page.
