Canon PIXMA setup and troubleshooting
PIXMA covers Canon’s home inkjets — cartridge models like the TS and TR series, and MegaTank ink tank models in the G series. Setup is usually through the Canon PRINT app or ij.start.canon.
How to set up a Canon PIXMA
- Install ink and load paper.
- Go to ij.start.canon on your computer, or open the Canon PRINT app on your phone, and follow the setup for your model.
- If the app can’t find the printer, use the printer’s wireless connection menu to start setup again.
- Install IJ Scan Utility if you want to scan to your computer.
Then add it to your computer: Windows 11 · Windows 10 · Mac · Chromebook · Phone
Worth knowing
When a PIXMA shows a support code, look it up on Canon’s site first — it pinpoints the problem.

Finding your manual and official support
Your exact model’s user guide, drivers and warranty support are on Canon’s official site: Canon U.S.A. Support (opens the manufacturer’s site). Search for the full model number printed on the front or on the label inside the ink/toner door.
